Senior Assassin has begun once again, and with it comes controversy, betrayal, and stalking. The $600 prize pool has created obsessed, weirdly resourceful, crazed teens who will go to extreme lengths for a chance at glory. So far, there have been some crazy stories and elimination plans. Here at The Messenger, we have collected some of the best moments from the game.
The very first elimination of the game was provided to us by Iza Jensen! After a two-hour-long stakeout, Jensen managed to get Iris Too before school. Not only did Jensen get the first elimination of round one, but she also managed to secure the first elimination of round two. After another two-hour-long stakeout, she eliminated her target all the way in Kent. Jensen has sadly fallen in round four. However, her dedication will not be forgotten, and she will be missed dearly.
Jackie Liu was in it to win it, although Cassie Sundberg had other plans. “I thought we were going to tennis practice, it was a calm day,” Liu said. While Liu was innocently sitting in the backseat of a car, Sundberg turned around from the front seat and shot him. Liu then sat in shock for approximately 15 seconds, staring at his assassin. Sundberg brought the hammer down and crushed Liu’s dreams of winning anything. He didn’t even make it past round one.
Oliver Alford had one of the strongest starts to the Senior Assassin season with his iconic sunroof trick shot. At lunch Alford followed his target, EJ Caminong, to the local AMPM where they waited for him to get out of his car. After about ten minutes, Caminong got out of his car with a nerf gun. “It turns out I was indeed not slick,” Alford confessed.
The hunt suddenly turned into a shootout in the middle of the gas station. In the midst of the action, they were interrupted by an angry woman at the pump next to them who yelled at them to take their shenanigans elsewhere. Alford claimed that he “totally could have shot him, but out of respect and interference from the angry person, I didn’t.” It wasn’t until Caminong had retreated to his car that Alford saw his open sunroof and seized the opportunity.
Luc Robbins had a calculated and involved approach to staying in the game. Robbins is the perfect example of how knowledge really is power in this twisted game. When he learned that he was Mara Bollar’s target and she was Kyle Cobden’s target, he conjured up the perfect trap. Robbins explained how “the all-knowing Logan Trask” tipped him off that Mara and her friends were after him in a red van and he knew it was go time. Bollar then discovered Robbins’ whereabouts from a double agent who put it on his mother’s life that he wasn’t working with Robbins. Mara then attempted a car switch which Robbins said would have thrown him off if it wasn’t for good old Logan Trask, who came to Robbins’ rescue once again. When Bollar saw Robbins walking to his car, out of bounds, she bounded after him but was quickly struck down by Cobden hiding behind a bush.
