Preview/Predictions:
This year’s Super Bowl is the most hotly anticipated (and hated) thing in the country right now, and everyone on the internet is making their predictions for what will happen. Bets are being placed on everything from the color of the gatorade shower to what Kendrick’s first song will be at the halftime show. It’s Friday night right now, and I’ll be giving my predictions.
The game itself is a close call. A matchup between (arguably) the two most widely hated teams in the league, it was a rather predictable one. The 14-3 Philadelphia Eagles are playing Patrick Mahomes and the 15-2 Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles have the league’s number one defense, and a solid offense centered around dynamic running back Saquon Barkley. The Chiefs have a stout defense as well, that rarely gives up big games to running backs. On offense, they are led by Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, two players who have established themselves as playmakers when it matters.
So, what will happen in the game? Here are my predictions:
- Chiefs Victory! (Unfortunately…)
- Saquon Barkley achieves the most rushing yards in a season all time, including playoffs.
- President Trump will be in attendance, at least 9 closeups of his face throughout the broadcast.
- Kendrick Lamar throws disses at Drake at halftime show.
- Many fans want Travis Kelce to propose to Taylor Swift during the game, but I don’t believe in this one. (Focus on the game, Travis!)
- Saquon Barkley has another 60+ yard rushing touchdown.
- At least one commercial will cause anger and screaming for the remote (like the Tubi one last year).
- Game comes down to a controversial call in the final seconds and people blame the refs for the outcome.
- Gatorade will be RED, Kendrick’s first song will be “Not Like Us”, and Taylor will NOT post on instagram during the game. (Maybe a story, though….)
Review/Reactions
Wow… That was a difficult game to sit through. The Eagles beat the Chiefs resoundingly with a score of 40-22. The Eagles defense was the clear star of the game with six sacks and two interceptions (one pick six!). They held Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to zero points in the first half, only giving up one first down. The defensive talent of this Eagles team was clear, with players at defensive line, linebacker, and cornerback making big-time plays.
But, in the aftermath of this exciting game, everyone’s wondering one thing. How did our predictions do?
- The Eagles won.
- Saquon Barkley did break the record for most rushing yards including playoffs.
- Trump was not shown a single time on the broadcast! (Taylor Swift was barely shown either.)
- No commercials caused the same kind of anger, but Tubi did have a weird one (heads shaped like cowboy hats…?)
- The game was not close enough to come down to a controversial call, the Gatorade was YELLOW and Kendrick’s first song was “Squabble Up.”
