As the second semester creeps to an end, many students have still yet to fulfill the graduating requirement of sixty hours of service. For seniors rushing to complete this task last minute, juniors who are not consistently behind in APUSH or Calculus, or freshmen/sophomores with unlimited free time, here are some great volunteering opportunities nearby:
Typical PNW Activities:
Seattle Parks and Recreation: litter-ally has volunteer opportunities every single day. From mulching, to planting, to trail cleaning/maintenance, there is no excuse for you to be slacking off.
We Heart Seattle: This organization conducts public area trash clean ups around the city. Their event calendar is linked on their website for easy access.
Wilderness Awareness School (WAS): Fitting in better with people who say, “Skibidi toilet rizz”? Become a youth camp counselor at parks like Seward, Greenlake, and Woodland. Sign up to volunteer during the summer.
Sea Garbage: Clean up Seattle by picking up trash with a group of your friends and be featured on Instagram and Tik Tok @theseagarbage. This volunteer service was started and is run by Bulldogs!
Munch Bunch:
Seattle Food Committee: Run by volunteers, you can join the Seattle Food Committee at a food bank near you to help end hunger around seattle.
Northwest Harvest: Participate in completing tasks at a community market such as welcoming guests, bagging groceries, and restocking.
Food Lifeline: Good at organizing? Sort produce and pack family-sized distributions to fight against food scarcity.

Seattle Theatre Group (STG): Popular venues like The Moore, Neptune, Paramount, and Remlinger Farms need people year round! Free time this coming summer? Apply to volunteer at festivals and concerts with sign ups starting around April.
